War of the veggie burgers
Faizul Khan Tanim goes into battle mode
If you’re craving a burger but need to shave calories off yourself then the answer is veggie burgers. There are several kinds on the menu. Let’s look at a few of the options:
KFC’s veggie burger and veggie feast burger
The delightful veggie burger is packed with light and golden crispy hash brown tri-patties made of potato while the scrumptious veggie feast comes with a mixed-veg patty. Both are garnished with creamy pepper mayo, lettuce, onion rings and tomato in oven-fresh buns freckled with sesame seeds and is a fantastic non-meaty delight. This burger will tantalise you with crunchy sound, green flavour, with or without cheese; you will most definitely not miss the organic protein editions at all.

Chicken King’s veggie burger
This veggie burger has a hamburger-style patty that does not contain meat but is deliciously made from vegetables, textured vegetable protein or soy meat, topped with traditional crispy vegetables powered with ketchup and all that jazz, making music inside hot buns. In normal days, I would just go for that but in case of special treats, add a slice of cheddar and have some fries beside; this burger looks gorgeous enough to put cautionary status – beware! You might have to open your mouth wider to accommodate such juicy delight.

Fortuna Fried Chicken (FFC)’s salad burger
This burger is another comfortably brilliant addition to the healthy and veggie fraternity. This patty is made from garden fresh basic vegetables like tomatoes, cucumber and gets heavenly adventurous with the additions of fried mushrooms, black olive rings, a dash of soft mayo, crispy iceberg lettuce and all collapsed in beautiful toasted buns – the word yummy becomes an understatement as it’s very filling and ready to do justice to the amount spent.
