If words like blissful, serene and tranquil had synonyms composed of physical places, the great Lake Tahoe would make it amongst the aperture of the spherical chart. This place has so much of captivating natural beauty that it will produce shots for you, the photographer yourself might as well indulge in some nature intoxication with your god-gifted lenses.
These sites are intense and intriguing to your heart and mind, yet soothing, vivid, and elated to the eyes and precisely this difference of mind and sight is what makes places like Lake Tahoe so special…you might visit the whole of United States (US) and see 100 places of interest but what will remain tattooed in your imagination is only the best. Breathtaking view of the Fannette Island at the Emerald Bay of Lake Tahoe is the most spectacular example.
This little island contains what is left of ‘Tea House’, a building constructed by the owner of Vikingsholm, a mini castle. Fannette Island, along with Vikingsholm and Emerald Bay, is a part of Emerald Bay State Park. It is accessible by boat or by swimming.
And this best is a large freshwater lake in the Sierra Nevada of the US located along the border between California and Nevada, west of Carson City. Lake Tahoe is the largest alpine lake in North America with a depth of 1,645 ft (501 m), making it US’s second-deepest (the deepest is Crater Lake in Oregon).
Clear water giving away the best view of its deep down treasures, the surface posting a beautiful reflection of the snow-white landscape…it feels one is not only watching purity but breathing as well.
So there are plenty of things you can do at Lake Tahoe area – take the lake cruise, water skiing and tubing, ski on the ice enclosed mountains, hiking and biking on the mountain trails or take a snowmobile drive, scuba diving or just take the gondola rides to enjoy the panoramic view of the epic mountains, lake and up to impulsive plunging or swimming in the ice cold water of the lake – trust me, it will be a different kind of numbness after all. Do not worry if you haven’t done any of these sports before, there are trainers who will do all the magic in a jiffy. It is the phrase Experiencing Exhilaration at any Elevation coming true in various ways.
As dusk arrives, one may look for the moon because if it glows, it sends quite a loud message and one will be amazed to see how beautifully this planet shines and the stars twinkle. But if you are not the nature enthusiast, you might as well spend all your fortune, try your luck and be either a prince or a pauper.
Yes! Gambling is big close to Tahoe. Reno is the new Las Vegas of Nevada and the city will keep you awake all night without nicotine and bubbles of sips harder than soft drinks. It is legal on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe. The glitzy casinos, each with a variety of slot machines and table games, are located on the South Shore in Stateline, and on the North Shore in Crystal Bay and Incline Village.
And you will be bewildered in amazement with the offers these casinos throw at you – buffet meals for 3.5 to 5.5 US$. Unbelievable? One will also find as low as 15 $ bread and breakfast and to your utter disbelief, these places will give you advance on your next month’s salary just so that you empty your pockets on their tables. Most of these casinos are filled with rich people, close to their deathbed, suffering manic depression and riding on high powered adrenaline excitements to be rich in one night. Sad indeed but a large chunk of the liquid money is injected in to the country’s economy from these places.
